Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – St. Thomas (25-12, 15-6) swept both games of a doubleheader Saturday at Paul Demie Mainieri Field to complete a three-game series sweep over USC Beaufort (14-18, 6-12 TSC).
 
In the first game of the doubleheader, the Bobcats trailed 4-2 heading into the ninth inning.  STU rallied with three runs in the bottom of the ninth capped off by a walk-off RBI single by sophomore David Quintero that scored Eric Santamaria for the 5-4 win.  Fernando Escarra (1-1) pitched a scoreless ninth inning for the Bobcats to earn the win in relief.   Center fielder Edwin Medina hit his second home run of the year in the third inning.
 
The Bobcats led the entire way in game two scoring one run in each of the first four innings en route to a 4-3 win over the Sand Sharks.   Freshman lefthander Brandon Valentin (5-2) earned the win allowing three runs on seven hits through five innings.  Christian Oliva earned the save, pitching a perfect ninth inning.  Offensively, third baseman Brandon Canizares went 2-3 with a double and two runs scored while first baseman Paul Chacin went 2-4 with a double and one RBI.

In game one of the series played Friday night, the Bobcats blanked the Sand Sharks 10-0 in a game called due to the mercy rule.  Eddie Cody (7-1) pitched a five-hit shutout with six strikeouts and no walks, lowering his ERA to 1.32.  Catcher Oscar Aguirre went 3-5 with two RBI to fuel STU's offensive attack. 
 
St. Thomas returns to action on Tuesday at Northwood.
