MIAMI GARDENS, FLA. – St. Thomas men's tennis traveled north to take on Sun Conference opponent Ave Maria. The Bobcats came away with a strong 6-3 victory over the Gyrenes. Senior Juan Bravo continues to lead the way for STU, while three other Bobcats picked up their first wins of the season.
In doubles action, the Bobcats picked up wins in two of three match ups. On court one, Bravo and Grover Ordonez won 8-6 for their third win as a team. Nicolas Etienne and Joshua Rosner notched their first win of the season on court three, 8-4.
The Bobcats continued to play well in singles competition, winning four of six match ups. Bravo dominated in the no. two match up with a 6-1, 6-2 win, his fourth of the season. Ordonez, Arturo Romero and Rosner swept the four, five and six match ups, all their first wins of the season.
