Box Score MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. - Senior Eddie Cody pitched a complete game allowing one run on seven hits as St. Thomas (28-15, 17-7 Sun Conference) defeated 13th ranked Embry-Riddle (30-15, 19-4), 3-1 Friday night at Paul Demie Mainieri Field. 

With the win which came in his seventh complete game of the season, Cody improved to 8-1 on and lowered his ERA to 1.24.  It marked the fourth consecutive game and the eighth time this year that Cody has held an opponent to one run or fewer.

Embry-Riddle scored one run in the first, but the Bobcats responded with the game-tying and go-ahead runs in the third. Michael Centeno scored on an error on a play that Edwin Medina reached on a fielder's choice. STU loaded the bases for Dayron Gomez who drove in the game-winning RBI with a sacrifice fly that scored Medina.

Oscar Aguirre drove in pinch runner Nico Hernandez with a one-out RBI single adding an insurance run in the bottom of the eighth.

The two teams return to action Saturday with a doubleheader beginning at 12 p.m. at Paul Demie Mainieri Field. Senior Day ceremonies will take place prior to the first game of the doubleheader.
