#24 STU MAINTAINS CONTROL OF CONFERENCE WITH WIN OVER JWU

Box Score MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. - Dannisha Pierce  Claudia Martin each scored 16 points to lead 24th ranked St. Thomas (20-4, 13-1 The Sun Conference) to a 64-55 win over Johnson & Wales (9-15, 5-9 TSC).

The Bobcats never trailed, opening the game on a 14-0 run.  JWU battled back to within five points with the score 52-47 with 4:51 to play before STU pulled away in the final minutes.

Pierce scored 16 points and seven rebounds to go along with three assists.  Martin scored 16 with five boards. Antishia Wright scored 12 points, five rebounds and five assists. Desanta' Franklin-Jordan (10 pts) also scored in double figures with eight of her 10 points coming in the first half.

St. Thomas returns to action on Saturday at Embry-Riddle.
