MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. - In the first Sun Conference match of the season, St. Thomas was dominant in an 8-1 win over Ave Maria Thursday afternoon at the Bobcat Tennis Courts.  The Bobcats swept the singles competiion and won two of the three double matches en route to the win.

The Bobcats swept the doubles competition led by a 8-2 win by the number one doubles team of Matias Dasso and Joshua Rosner.  Luis Soto and Jamie Spruill won in number two doubles 8-3, as did the number three doubles team of Alain Weil and Ariel Listo.

In singles competiion, Soto won in number two doubles 6-2, 6-1.  Dasso (no. 3), Listo (no. 4), Weil (no. 5) and Juan Carlos Villamizar-Abia (no. 6) were all winners as well.  The lone loss came in number one singles as Rosner fell 6-1, 6-2.

The Bobcats return to action with a road match vs. Sun Conference foe SCAD Savannah on Feb. 22.
