DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - No. 5 seed St. Thomas defeated no. 4 Southeastern 5-3 in the quarterfinals of The Sun Conference Men's Tennis Championship held Thursday at the Crotty Tennis Center in Daytona Beach. The Bobcats will now face no. 1 seed and host school Embry-Riddle in the semifinals on Friday at 11:30 a.m.
The Bobcats swept the doubles side of the competition to defeat Southeastern. In number one doubles, the team of
Juan Bravo and
Grover Ordonez won 8-4. The number two doubles team of
Matias Dasso and
Joshua Rosner won 6-5, while
Luis Soto and
Juan Carlos Villamizar-Abia won 8-2 in number three doubles.
In singles, the Bobcats recorded wins by
Ariel Listo (number 4 singles) and
Matias Dasso (number 6 singles).
