STU SPLITS DOUBLEHEADER WITH RANKED BRYAN

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. - St. Thomas (4-3), ranked no. 1 in Perfect Game and no. 2 in the NAIA Coaches Poll, split a doubleheader Friday with 23rd ranked Bryan College winning game one 8-6, before dropping the second game 5-4 (7 innings).

In game one, STU got on the board first in the opening frame with a sacrifice fly by Oscar Aguirre scoring Jose Gomez.
BC then took the lead 2-1 in the second before RBI singles by Aguirre and Steven Fischer gave STU a 3-2 lead in the third.
After BC took the lead again, Michael Centeno put the Bobcats back ahead 5-4 as part of a five-run inning.
Alex Viera earned the win, registering four strikeouts in five innings of work.  Chris Rodriguez pitched a hitless ninth to earn the save.
In game two, STU trailed 5-1 heading into the bottom of the seventh of the contest scheduled for seven innings. 
Fischer hit a pinch-hit, two-run double followed by an RBI-single by Bryan Bermudez to bring the Bobcats within one run until Jose Hernandez closed out the game and earned the save for the Lions.
LJ Rowden (2-0) was the winning pitcher, while Ben Ancheff (0-1) took the loss.
STU returns to action with no. 12 Auburn-Montgomery on Saturday with a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. at Paul Demie Manieiri Field.
