STU AND LWC END SERIES IN SPLIT

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – No. 7 Lindsey Wilson (2-2) won both games of a doubleheader Saturday over no. 2 St. Thomas (3-2) to split the four-game series between the two highly ranked teams. 
 
In game one, the Bobcats led 4-2, before giving up two runs both the eighth and the ninth innings to lose 6-5.  In game two, Lindsey Wilson had a five-run sixth inning to secure the 8-4 win.
 
In the first game, Oscar Rodriguez opened the scoring with a RBI-single that scored Nick Canino in the second inning.  The Blue Raiders tied the game at 1-1 in the top of the first before Cesar Ramirez his a triple that scored Jose Gomez in the bottom the third.  Two Innings later, Ramirez hit RBI-double to center, this time scoring Adam Duarte.  Down 6-4 in the ninth, Michael Centeno hit a RBI-single that scored Rodriguez.  However, the Bobcats were unable to get the tying run off LWC's James Doubet who pitched the game's final three innings for the win.
 
Game two highlights for the Bobcats in the second game of the doubleheader included a RBI-single by Steven Fischer in the first inning and an RBI double in the seventh inning by Oscar Aguirre.  Both those plays scored Gomez.  Lindsey Wilson hit two home runs amongst its ten hits resulting in eight runs and the win.
 
St. Thomas returns to action against 23rd ranked Bryan College (Tenn.) with a doubleheader beginning at 4 p.m. on Friday at Paul Demie Mainieri Field.
