Box Score FORT MYERS, Fla.- Southeastern University (34-19, 13-11) defeats St. Thomas University (33-18, 16-8) 11-6 on Friday May 6th in the first round of the Sun Conference Championship tournament at City of Palms Park.

St. Thomas University fell behind right from the start allowing five runs in the first giving themselves a big wall to climb over the rest of the game. St. Thomas did mount a comeback scoring in three consecutive innings. Starting in the fifth with Aguirre getting his second RBI of the game off a sacrifice fly to center scoring Cesar Ramirez and Jose Gomez scoring on an error by the shortstop. Bobcats score again in the next inning on another sacrifice fly by Steven Fischer this time scoring Kendrick Gutierrez. In the seventh Bobcats made it a game by getting two more from a Gutierrez RBI single scoring Aguirre and a throwing error from the center fielder scoring Oscar Rodriguez making the score 9-6. It was a valiant effort by the Bobcats but it was too little too late after SEU tacked on two more insurance runs in the ninth.
