BOBCATS BEGIN PLAY AT SUN CONFERENCE BASEBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. - The St. Thomas University Baseball team, currently ranked 12th by Perfect Game and 25th in the NAIA Coaches Poll, begins play this weekend at The Sun Conference Championship Tournament at City of Palms Park in Fort Myers, Fla.  The Bobcats (33-18, 16-8) are the tournament's second seed and will open against fifth seeded Southeastern at 3 p.m. Friday. 
 
If the Bobcats defeat Southeastern on Friday, STU will play Saturday at 7 p.m. vs. the winner of the Webber International-Keiser game.  If STU loses Friday, next up would be a game on Saturday at 11 a.m. vs. the loser of the USCB-Warner game.  The tournament is a double-elimination format and runs through Monday, May 9.
 
Following the conference tournament, pairings for the NAIA World Series Opening Rounds will be announced on May 13.  The Opening Rounds will be played May 17-20 with the NAIA World Series scheduled for May 27 – June 3 in Lewiston, Idaho.
