Box Score MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. - The 22nd ranked St. Thomas University Men's Tennis team rolled to an 8-1 win over Sun Conference opponent Ave Maria Wednesday at the STU Tennis Courts.

STU led 3-0 after doubles competition as the Bobcats rolled through no. 2 and 3 doubles.  The number one doubles proved more of a challenge, but the team of Kevin Cubela and Mauricio Fernandez prevailed 8-6.

The Bobcats then went on to win five of the six singles matches.  Cubela won no. 1 singles in three sets, while Francisco Velasquez took care of no. 2 singles 6-4, 6-2.  Reigning Sun Conference Player of the Week Dimitri Bird (no. 3), Fabrice Bissainthe (no. 4) and Michele Coletta all won as well.

The Bobcats continue TSC play with a trip to Lakeland to take on conference rival Southeastern at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
