Box Score MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (January 23^rd, 2019) – The St. Thomas University Men's Tennis team (RV) (0-1) fell in straight sets (0-9) to second-ranked Keiser University (1-0) in the season opener on Wednesday afternoon.

Match Notes

• In the inaugural match on the newly named Butch Buchholz court took place between STU's Kevin Cubela and Keiser's Geronimo Barrios. Barrios defeated Cubela (5-6, 6-7)
• On court two, Franciso Velazquez represented the Bobcats and fell against Seahawk, Anthony Popyrin, in two sets (4-6, 0-6).
• Fabrice Bissainthe also lost in two sets against Keiser's, Riccardo Ferraris (1-6, 0-6)
• Damian Etchevest was defeated on court five, losing both sets (0-6, 0-6)
• In the final single match for the Men's side, Kiwane Norman lost in two sets (1-6, 0-6)
• STU had three doubles matches on the afternoon as well, Cubela and Fernandez teamed up and lost (0-8)
• Velazquez partnered with Bissante and fell in two sets, as well.
• The final partners match of the day, saw Etchevest joined by Norman and could not salvage a win for the Bobcats.
