Ian Exposito, a left-handed pitcher for St. Thomas University Baseball, has signed a Minor League contract with the Milwaukee Brewers organization on Wednesday evening.
In two seasons at St. Thomas, Exposito compiled a 21-4 record, striking out 199 batters in 185.1 innings pitched and recording a 3.11 earned run average.
As a senior in 2019, Exposito anchored the Bobcats pitching staff, being named the Sun Conference Pitcher of the Week on three separate occasions (2/20, 3/20, 5/1) and ranked as one of the top arms in the NAIA. Exposito was named the
Sun Conference Pitcher of the Year and First-Team All-Conference member, finished top five nationally in wins (12) and innings pitched (108.1).
This season, Exposito had six performances with over ten strikeouts, including a Sun Conference-high 14 against Thomas University. In Sun Conference play, Exposito held a 2.89 ERA, leading the conference in wins (6) and strikeouts (56).
Exposito also holds the St. Thomas University program record for strikeouts in a single season (129), achieving the milestone in the Avista NAIA World Series against No. 2 Science and Arts (OK.) in which the senior struck out eleven Drovers.
In 2018, Exposito finished 9-1 with 70 strikeouts in 77 innings pitched, with a 3.04 ERA.
Exposito joins recently drafted STU Baseball player,
Jackie Urbaez, in the Brewers organization.
