#18 BOBCATS SWEEP CONQUISTADORS ON SENIOR DAY

Box Score MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (April 16, 2021) – The 18th ranked, St. Thomas University (STU) Men's Tennis team swept the Florida National University (FNU) Conquistadors on Friday afternoon from the STU Tennis Courts. Two seniors were honored prior to the game, Adriel Azucey and Robin Calais.
 
Doubles
  • Lucas Ribas and Sebastian Bunster teamed up for their second straight start in the one slot for the Bobcats. Ribas and Bunster cruised past the Conquistadors by a score of 6-1.
  • Senior, Robin Calais and Juan Patino Pabon returned to action after a week off from doubles on court three. The pair got back to their winning ways, securing the doubles point winning 6-4.
  • Tomas Andrews and Alessandro Tabares bumped up one slot into the two for doubles after being the solo win in the last match on Saturday versus Coastal Georgia. The pair made a comeback victory and led to the sweep of all three courts winning 7-5.
Singles
  • Courts 1,2,3 secured the win early after winning the doubles courts and sweeping all three front courts.
  • Ribas made his fourth straight start as the one for the Bobcats, sweeping his match 7-5 and 6-4.
  • Calais welcomed himself back to the two slot winning his matches 6-2, 6-4.
  • Tabares extends his win streak to three taking on court three over the Conquistadors, 7-6[4], 6-3.
  • Bunster picks up his fourth individual win in the last five matches, 6-2, 7-5.
  • Patino Pabon takes court five both scores 6-4.
  • Tomas Pejanovic found his way back into the lineup and taking court six and only allowing FNU to win one set.

This concluded the regular season for the Bobcats. The 18th ranked Bobcats will be the number two seed in the Sun Conference Tournament held in Brunswick, Ga. Thursday, April 29 – Friday May 30, 2021
