Scott Leads Haiti National Team At 2025 NACAC Championships

Miami Gardens, Fla. – Representing St. Thomas University on the National Stage this past summer, the Bobcats' Track and Field Head Coach Joey Scott led the Haitian National Team at the 2025 North American, Central American and Caribbean (NACAC) Championships in Freeport, Bahamas.

Under his guidance, Wadeline Venlogh placed second in the Women's 400 Meter Dash with a time of 50.23 after using a 51.15 sprint in the preliminaries to advance to the finals. On the Men's side, Darren Mc-Queen advanced out of the preliminary round in the 100 Meter Dash off a 10.34 finish.

Since taking the reigns of the STU Track and Field program, the Bobcats have become a consistent competitor within the Sun Conference. This past season St. Thomas swept the league's Freshman of the Year awards with Tonyan Beckford taking the Women's award alongside the Most Valuable Performer at the Outdoor Championship while Elijah Smith and Landan Creighton shared Male Co-Freshman of the Year. Beckford concluded the season with All-American status in both the 200 and 400 meter events.
