Series History
The Bobcats trail the all-time series history against Concordia, going 0-3. All three games took place in 2023 in the Bobcats' spring break trip to Central Florida in non-consecutive games.
Back in the Polls
The first regular-season NAIA Baseball Top 25 Coaches' Poll was released yesterday, and the Bobcats are back in it. The Bobcats are now ranked 17th in the NAIA, after receiving votes in the preseason poll. Two additional Sun Conference teams (#8 Southeastern and #22 Keiser) are also in this release of the Top 25, and three previous opponents are ranked as well (#3 Taylor, #9 Loyola, and #25 Oakland City). Concordia Nebraska is now ranked 18th in the NAIA, after initially being ranked 16th in the preseason poll.
Strong Offense in the Loyola Series
The Bobcats had a strong offensive performance in their last series two weekends ago against Loyola. As an offense, the Bobcats hit .418 with 15 XBH and 15 SB.
Erick Ballenilla won Sun Conference Baseball Player of the Week, going 9-for-20, with 2 HR, 3 2B, and 4 SB.
Daytan Biegel went 5-for-7, and
Nicholas Alonso went 5-for-9 with a HR and 2 SB.
Scouting Concordia Nebraska
The 18th-ranked Concordia Bulldogs are off to a great start, going 11-3. They traveled over 1,400 miles from Seward, Nebraska, to Miami Gardens. The Bulldogs are lead by 12th-year Head Coach Ryan Dupic. Concordia hosted the NAIA Opening Round in 2025, where Webber International advanced to the NAIA World Series.
The Bulldogs pitching staff has been dominant so far this season. In 103 innings, Concordia has only allowed 37 walks, while striking out 138 batters. They have a 3.58 ERA, with a .201 opponent's batting average. Many of their arms have been good so far, including DJ Andersen, who has struck out nine batters in four scoreless innings. Freshman Devin Gonor has a 1.84 ERA over 14.2 innings.
Offensively, Concordia Nebraska has hit for a lot of power, entering today with a .524 SLG. They have hit 23 home runs over 14 games, led by Bronx Lewis who has six home runs. Jake Watson had a strong last weekend, being named the Great Plains Athletic Conference Player of the Week, going 8-for-14 with 2 2B, a HR, 8 RBI, with two caught stealing.
