Series History
The Bobcats lead the all-time series lead over the Gyrenes, going 37-17. The last ten games have been closer, as both these teams have a 5-5 record. They split the four-game series last year at Ave Maria. Luis Morera had a good weekend last year against Ave Maria, going 3-for-7 with an RBI. Juan Fernandez has a quality start, throwing seven innings, allowing two runs. 
 
Keiser Series Recap
St. Thomas split their series last week at Keiser. Both of the Bobcats wins were via the run rule. Offensively, the Bobcats hit .357 over the weekend. Lester Martinez had a great weekend, as he went 6-for-14 with a 2B, 3B, HR, and 6 RBI. Daytan Biegel also went 6-for-14 with 2 2B and 4 RBI. Friedy De La Rosa was 4-for-5 with a 2B and 3 RBI. 
 
On the mound, the Bobcats had a staff ERA of 3.21 on the weekend. Ismael Cordoba threw six innings, allowing just one unearned run while striking out nine. Luis Rodriguez threw three scoreless innings of relief, allowing just one hit while striking out four. 
 
Senior Day
The Bobcats will honor ten seniors who will play their last games at Paul Demie Mainieri Field. The ceremony will take place pregame on Saturday, April 25. The seniors honored include Ruben Gandarilla, Eddie Novoa, Erick Ballenilla, Sean Bencosme, Adrian Quinonez, Franklin Pinales Jr., Edwin Toribio, Juan Fernandez, Yoel Rojas, and Daytan Biegel. 
 
Scouting Ave Maria
Ave Maria enters this weekend with a 12-19 record. They are led by first-year head coach Rob Cooper, who has previously been a head coach at Penn State and Wright State, as well as an assistant coach at Miami. The Gyrenes had multiple non-conference series canceled earlier this year, which is why they have only played 31 games. 
 
Offensively, Kyle Magdic has been the biggest power threat for the Gyrenes. He is slugging .590 with seven home runs. Ri'Shon Pearl leads Ave Maria in hitting, as he has a .337 average. As a team, the Gyrenes are hitting .274 as a team. 
 
On the mound, Ave Maria has a 9.04 ERA. They have struggled with command, as the Gyrenes have given up more than a free pass an inning, with 175 walks and 69 hit by pitches in 236 innings. Opponents are also hitting .318 off Gyrene pitchers. Game one starter Ryan Young has been a bright spot for Ave Maria, as he has a 3.08 ERA in eight starts. Christian Prull is the reigning Sun Conference Pitcher of the Week, as he had two saves and struck out five of seven batters last weekend.
