Miami Gardens, FL The St. Thomas women's soccer team (1-5, 1-3 in the Sun Conference) fell to the Webber International Warriors (4-1, 3-0 in SC) in an exciting game losing 2-1 in the final minute on a penalty kick that slipped past goalkeeper Denisse Montero.  It was her first start, she ended the game with two goals allowed and seven saves.

The game began with the Bobcats dominating the ball.  They were the aggressor early keeping the ball on the Warriors' defensive side of the field and putting pressure on the Warriors goalkeeper Kelsey Coates.  During those first few minutes of Bobcats ball domination Shanoska Young and Cindy Rivera almost scored for the Bobcats.

The Bobcats dominated the ball for most of the first period with an eight minute window serving as the costly exception.  During the 38th minute Melissa Wysong took advantage of the Warriors sudden ball control and scored a goal.  During that eight minute time span the Warriors attempted seven shots three of which Montero was able to save.

The Bobcats goal came after Shanoska Young passed the ball to Alexa Livingston in the middle of the field who dropped the ball into Tonay Uber for a clear look at the goal.  Her subsequent shot ricocheted off bar but after several players made a play for the ball Uber received a second look even better than the first she would capitalized on to make the score 1-1 in the 61st minute.

The game would remain a scramble from there until the Warriors made good on the penalty kick with less than a minute remaining.  The Bobcats play again September 24 against Northwood University at home at 4 PM.
