The St. Thomas Lady Bobcats split a double header this afternoon at Barry University. The Bobcats fell in game one 8-0 before rebounding to take game two 6-5. In game one Carissa Albizu and Monica Garcia were the only St. Thomas players to get hits, while the team committed four errors. Game two was a different story.
Game two was tied 1-1 going into the top of the 4th inning where St. Thomas put four runs on the board to take the lead 5-1. However, Barry came right back in the bottom of the inning with four runs of their own to tie the game again. Showing their resilience, the Lady Bobcats pushed the go ahead run in the top of the 6th, which ended up being the decider. Nikki Sanchez came in to pitch the final two innings to shut the door on Barry. St. Thomas travels to Savannah, GA this weekend to face SCAD in their final regular season series of the season. The first pitch is scheduled for Friday afternoon at 5 PM.
