The St. Thomas Lady Bobcats continued Conference play this afternoon against Northwood University. The two teams split their double header, giving the series win to St. Thomas. Game one was a pitching duel and went all the way into the bottom of the 7th without a run crossing the plate. This was due to strong pitching performances from both Amanda Heyl and Nikki Sanchez. Cindy Castrillon was able to deliver the only run of the game by driving in Monica Garcia with the walk off single.
In game number two, the Bobcats fell behind 6-0 after the first three innings. They were unable to make up the deficit and fell 7-2. Even with the loss in game two, the Bobcats take the weekend series from Northwood and open up 2-1 in conference. The team will try to extend their good fortune in conference play when they play a weekend series at Warner April 9th and 10th.
