Box Score 2 MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. - The 14th ranked St. Thomas Women's Soccer team concluded its regular season with a pair of road wins at Webber International and Warner. With the wins, the Bobcats finished with a 13-1-1 (.900) regular season record and an 8-1 record in Sun Conference play. The Bobcats enter the postseason having won their last five matches and with victories in 10 of their last 11 contests.

Melony Poviones scored both goals for the Bobcats who shut out their opponent for the fourth straight game. In the 18th minute, Poviones scored an unassisted goal which proved to be the game-winner, her sixth game-winning goal of the year. The regular-season finale was on Sunday at Warner in Lake Wales, Fla where the Bobcats defeated the Royals by the score of 4-1. Poviones continued her hot streak to open the scoring with a goal on an assist by senior forward
Sara Mira in the 21st minute. Less than three minutes later, Mira scored off an assist by senior
Amanda Trujillo to give the Bobcats at 2-0 lead. Four minutes into the second half, Poviones scored again on another assist by Trujillo. The Bobcats surrendered a goal to the Royals in the 51st minute to make the score 3-1, but Mira responded less than 90 seconds later with an unassisted goal to cement the win.
With her two goals at Warner, Mira now has a team-best 22 goals and 11 assists for a total of 55 points. She ranks second in the nation in total points (55) and in points-per-game (3.67). Her 22 goals ranks fifth nationally in toal goals scored, while also ranking fifth in goals-per-game (3.73).
Poviones scored four goals on the weekend to raise her season goal total to 21 (7th in nation) and her goals-per-game average to 1.50 (3rd in nation). She now has six game winning goals which ranks third nationally as does her average of 0.43 game-winning goals-per-game. Poviones has scored a goal in nine consecutive games, with multi-goal performances in five of the nine contests. She has scored 11 goals in the last four games with multi-goal games in each of the four contests.
Combined, Mira and Poviones have an astounding total of 43 goals, 19 assists, and 105 points to make them the most prolific scoring duo in the NAIA.
Postseason play for the Bobcats begins on Thursday, Nov. 7 with the start of The Sun Conference tournament.
