Box Score MIAMI GARDENS, FLA. – St. Thomas women's basketball loses 64-79 in a rematch with Albany State, Monday. The Golden Rams were able to hold on to the lead the entire game, resisting multiple Bobcats runs. Even in the loss, seniors Jessica Montalvo and
Daniella Ciccarone turned in strong performances.
The first half saw Montalvo score 12 points and grab five rebounds, leading both categories for the game in the first half. She was matched by Albany State's Amber McKenzie and Artisha Holston who combined for 17 points and eight rebounds. At the end of the first half the Bobcats trailed the Golden Rams 31-43.
The second half saw Albany State take controls of the game and secure their win. Reigning Sun Conference Player of the Week, Ciccarone was St. Thomas's second half leader. In their attempt to make a comeback, Ciccarone scored 10 points, adding four rebounds and four assist. The Bobcats were only out scored by three points in the second half but it was not enough to make up for the first half deficit.
St. Thomas women's basketball will look to get back on track Thursday, December 19
th when they host University of Findlay in the Cruzin' Classic.
