Christina Horton Softball Player of the Week for the week ending . Horton was spectacular in last week's double-header against Northwood University. She joins
Jessica Matias as the second Bobcat to receive the honor during the 2014 season.
In STU's 2-0 game one win, Horton was perfect from the batter's box and the base pads. She went 3-3 with three stolen bases and was driven in by
Danielle Borrelli in the first inning.
The Bobcats finished the sweep with a 3-0 win in game two. Horton went 2-3 and added another stole base. She accounted for two of the Bobcats three runs being driven in by
Natalie Sacramento in the third and fifth innings.
Horton has led the way for the Bobcats all season. She lead the team in hits with 52, is second on the team with a .356 in batting average and 25 stolen bases. Horton also has one of STU's three home runs this year and 21 RBI. Horton's stellar play this season extends to the field playing at second base and in the outfield for the Bobcats.
