Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – St. Thomas (1-1) and Coastal Georgia (1-1) split a season-opening doubleheader on Saturday afternoon at Bobcat Field.  Coastal Georgia won the first game 7-4.  St. Thomas bounced back with a 4-1 win in game two.
 
Jennifer Acevedo and Jessica Castiglione combined to allow just one run on four hits in the win for the Bobcats.
 
The Bobcats jumped on the Mariners with three runs in the first inning.  Jessica Matias scored on an error, followed by an RBI-single by Cristina Sacramento that scored Amanda Penton.  Meghan Riddle then scored on an error for STU's third run.
 
Penton then drove in Carson Catasus in the fourth inning with a RBI-single to give the Bobcats a 4-0 lead.  The Mariners came back with a run the fifth.  The game was called after 5 ½ innings due to darkness.
 
STU returns to action with a road trip to Daytona Beach to face Embry-Riddle on Feb. 13.
