Box Score CLERMONT, Fla. - An eight-run fifth inning propelled St. Thomas (12-11) to a 14-6 win over Cornerstone (4-6) at the National Training Center.Â
STU jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first. Â Matias led off with a single, then was moved to third on a double by Riddle. Â Catasus hit an RBI-single to score Matias, then Gonzalez drove in Riddle on a ground out.
The Bobcats added three runs in the second to take a 5-0 lead highlighted by a two-out RBI triple by Catasus. Â
Cornerstone added a run in the bottom of the second and four runs in the third to tie the game at five. Â The teams traded runs in the fourth making the score 6-6 after four complete.
