AVE MARIA, Fla. – 22nd ranked St. Thomas (3-5, 3-1 TSC) went undefeated in a 5-0 win over host Ave Maria (0-5, 0-5 TSC) on Wednesday in a rain-shortened Sun Conference match up.
The number one doubles team of
Victoria Slavina and
Ksenia Slavina won 8-6, while the number two team of
Cassandra Lemieux and
Naomi Maehama dominated their opponent with an 8-0 victory. Number three doubles was credited to the Bobcats due to a forfeit.
Maehama then won in number four singles 6-0, 6-0 and
Marine Uyttenhove also won in straight sets to clinch the match for the Bobcats with the required five wins when rain halted play.
St. Thomas returns to action on Saturday with a home match vs. Southeastern scheduled for a 1:30 p.m. start at the STU Tennis Courts.
