Box Score MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. - The 21st ranked St. Thomas University Women's Tennis team continued its strong play in Sun Conference competition with a dominant 9-0 sweep of Ave Maria on Wednesday at the STU Tennis Courts.  St. Thomas did not lose a set, outscoring AMU 76-10 in games played in The Sun Conference dual event.

The Bobcats swept the doubles competition,  then cruised to a 5-0 sweep in singles play to blank the Gyrenes.

In doubles play, the number one team of Victoria Slavina and Mariah Bastos won 8-2, while the team of Cynthia Diaz and Naomi Maehama shut out its completion 8-0.  The number three doubles was won by the Bobcats uncontested.

Singles play was just as fruitful as Slavina (no. 1) and Cassandra Lemieux (no. 2) each won 6-1, 6-0.  Andrea Gonzalez (no. 3) and Diaz (no.4) each won by identical scores as well winning 6-1, 6-1.  Maehama took care of business in number five singles 6-0, 6-2.

STU continues Sun Conference play on Saturday at Southeastern.  Match time is set for 1 p.m. In Lakeland.
