MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (March 23, 2023) - Recently receiving votes, St. Thomas University (STU) Softball (21-7, 4-3 SUN) welcomed no. 17 Southeastern University (17-8, 7-0 SUN) to Col. Jacquelin J. Kelly on Friday evening for game one of a three game Sun Conference series. The Bobcats fell to the Fire 3-0 in game one.

The game started with 2.2 hitless innings from Kaitlin Spalding. The Bobcats defense had the Fire going three-up three-down for the fix six outs. St. Thomas threatened on offense having runners on the corners. The Fire escaped the inning in a double play rundown.

Southeastern scored the first run of the game in the top of the fifth and scored in two more consecutive innings after. The offense was unable to get going stranding three runners in the game.

The series finale comes Saturday afternoon with a double header, first pitch at 12:00 p.m. and the second game will begin 20 minutes after the first one concludes.
