MOBILE, Ala. (May 16, 2023) - A hot Tuesday morning did not phase the St. Thomas University (STU) Women's Tennis Team who took down Ottawa (Kan.), 4-0, to advance to the NAIA National Tournament Round if 16.

The dominate performance started in doubles with Annie Carrera and Lia Pena picking up the first win in court three not dropping a set. STU secured the doubles point with a win on court one, 6-2, from the nationally ranked pair of Isabella Ciancaglini Ribera and Maria Carme Ibañez Navarro. 

Jenesie Burgos and Lauren Fullerton we're up 4-3 when the match was abandoned due to clinch.

Singles play was just as dominating as not one court dropped a set. Jamison Geoffreys jumped into singles play after taking doubles off and did not miss a beat. Geoffreys won 6-0, 6-0 not dropping a single game to give STU a 2-0 match lead.

Annie Carrera was next to handle business winning on court four 6-0, 6-1 to make it 3-0 Bobcats. Ciancaglini Ribera closed it out the match on court three with 6-2, 6-0 victory to clinch it.

The Bobcats now advance to play Middle Georgia State Wednesday, May 17 at 10 a.m. Eastern Time at the Mobile Tennis Center.
