GAINESVILLE, Fla. (January 27, 2024) - The St. Thomas University (STU) Men's Track and Field team participated in the Florida Collegiate Invitational this weekend, sending 25 participants to compete in the meet. The Bobcats competed in the two-day meet alongside Division I, Division II, and NAIA teams, including fellow Sun Conference competitors. 

Roger Reyes led the charge for the Bobcats, competing in the Men's 1 Mile, 1000m Run and 3000m Run. In the Men's 1 Mile, Reyes finished with a time of 4:21.44, just 10 seconds behind the first-place Division I finisher from the University of Tampa. Reyes kept his streak alive, finishing in 2nd place in the 1000m Run and 1st in the 3000m Run. 

In the Men's 400m Dash, Khamauri Crabbe showcased his speed, claiming the 4th place with a time of 49.47. Maxwell Mesais and Julian Archie also contributed to the team's success, securing the 7th and 25th places. 

The hurdles were conquered by Tristan Simmons and Thomas Smith in the Men's 60m Hurdles, securing the 4th and 6th places, respectively. The Men's 60m Dash witnessed Isaac Joseph claiming the 5th place with a time of 6.77. Joseph also had a standout performance in the Men's 200m Dash, crossing the finish line with a time of 21.73 and securing the 3rd place spot. 

Kenzie Knowles dominated the Men's 800m Run, claiming 1st place with a time of 1:58.32. Jamari Benjamin and Connor Glass also contributed to the team's success, securing 5th and 12th places. 

Up next, the Bobcats Track and Field team will head back to Gainesville to compete in the Sun Conference Indoor Championships on Friday, February 16th.
