MARION, Ind. (May 26, 2024) - The St. Thomas University (STU) Track and Field team traveled to Indiana Wesleyan University this weekend for the 2024 NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championship Schedule The Bobcats had a successful outing, with
Rian Boub earning her spot as an All-American as well as the Bobcats' 4x400m Men's Relay Team.
On the women's side, the Bobcats had seven competitors qualify for the NAIA National Championship across four different events. Emma DiVeronica competed in the Women's 100m Hurdles Preliminaries, running 14.94 seconds with a wind of 0.4 m/s. Diveronica was also part of the Women's 4x100m Relay Team alongside Yamina Numan, Khila Darrisaw, and LaKeisha Manning. The team finished in 47.55 seconds, achieving the NAIA B standard. One of the biggest highlights of the meet was the Women's Javelin. Rian Boub and Davanna Collie both qualified for the event for the Bobcats. Boub achieved a mark of 42.80m (140' 5") with her best throw, meeting both NAIA A and NAIA B standards. Collieachieved a mark of 40.64m (133' 4"), meeting NAIA B and NAIA A standards. Boub went on to finish in the Top Five, earning All-American Status.
On the men's side, the Bobcats sent 10 competitors for the NAIA National Championship across seven events. Although he did not move to the finals, Bradley Bowlin had a successful outing, running 10.55 seconds with a wind of 2.2 m/s, meeting the NAIA B standard in the Men's 100 Meters Preliminaries. Alex Camarca had a great performance in the Men's Javelin, achieving a mark of 52.85m (173' 5") in Flight 1, finishing in 21st place. The standout performers were the members of the 4x400m Relay Team. The team consisted of Kenzie Knowles, Malik John, Maxwell Mesais, and Mkhori Crabbe. The team finished in 3:12.63, meeting both NAIA A and NAIA B standards and earning All-American status after finishing in fourth place.
This meet concludes the 2024 Outdoor Track and Field Season for the Bobcats.
