Miami Gardens, Fla. - On the heels of a shutout victory at Judson University, St. Thomas University's Maria Paula Alfaro was named the Sun Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week. 

Making her STU debut on the road, Alfaro stopped all four shots she faced at Judson for the Bobcats' third-straight shutout. 

St. Thomas (2-1-1) plays their first game in the Sunshine State this season on Saturday, Sept. 6 at Webber International with kickoff set for 3:30 p.m.
