Miami Gardens, Fla. - St. Thomas University Head Women's Basketball Coach Candace Walker announced the hiring of Alexandra Boyk as the Bobcats' Graduate Assistant Coach. Boyk heads to Miami Gardens with experience in athletic training, rehabilitation and coaching.
While with the Bobcats, she will assist the coaching staff with training, development, and support of women's basketball program on top of providing performance feedback and supporting student-athletes in skill development.
"We're excited to welcome Lexi to South Florida and to the STU Basketball Family," Walker said. "Her strong work ethic, commitment and energy align perfectly with the culture that we have built within our program over the years. Lexi and our returning GA, Manny Buroz will complement each other well and will both be intricate pieces to this year's team success."
Before coming to St. Thomas, Boyk entered the coaching ranks at Berkshire High School where she worked with the Track and Field sprinters, hurdlers and high jumpers. She also worked with the Athletic Trainers at Berkshire prior to the start of Track and Field season.
Earning her Bachelor of Science in Health Services/Allied Health/Health Science from PennWest Edinboro in 2024, Boyk was a dual-sport athlete for the Fighting Scotts playing soccer and lacrosse. She made 53 appearances for the soccer team with 17 starts while playing in 49 contests with the lacrosse team, starting 39.
STU is coming off a 19-9 campaign, advancing to the Sun Conference Championship semifinals.
