A third baseman and catcher for the baseball team from 1976-1980, Buck Martinez was a three-year Captain for the Bobcats.  He was considered one of the best players in the Sunshine State Conference and was a top five nationally ranked hitter.
 
Martinez remains a “Leader for Life” at St. Thomas University where he serves on the President’s Board of Advisors and School of Business Advisory Council.  He is currently helping the University launch a solar project in conjunction with the School of Science, Technology and Engineering Management.
 
Martinez serves as the Senior Director of Development for Florida Power & Light.  Martinez holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Thomas University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Nova Southeastern. In addition, he is a graduate of the Boston University Leadership Program. He and his wife Silvia, and their three children, live in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
