Hall of Fame
A native of Indiana, Merlos transferred to St. Thomas University and made an immediate impact on the cross country team. Reporting the fastest time for a Florida woman in the small college division, Merlos won the 2002 and 2003 Sun Conference Championships. As an all-conference runner, Merlos also competed in two NAIA National Championships. Upon graduating with her bachelor’s degree in 2004, Merlos served as an assistant coach for the Bobcats. She received her MBA in 2007 and is an accountant for the Chopard watch company. She still continues to run and is a known winner, capturing the Mercedes-Benz Miami Corporate Run titles in 2016 and 2018, and was the 2017 runner-up.
