Laura Courtley-Todd becomes the ninth inductee into the St. Thomas University Sports Hall of Fame. Courtley-Todd, who has been at St. Thomas since 1996, currently serves as the school’s Director of Athletics.

Courtley-Todd rose from Sports Information Director to Assistant Athletic Director to Associate Athletic Director before given the leadership to run the department. Courtley-Todd has been at the helm of the department as Director of Athletics since 2000.

Courtley-Todd has made her mark by showing a true commitment to make St. Thomas University a learning laboratory for the athletes and students. STU's student-athletes consistently achieve both athletically and academically with dozens of national student-athlete awards garnered each year during Courtley-Todd's tenure. In 2012, Courtley-Todd was honored by her peers when she was named Sun Conference Athletic Director of the Year. Other honors have included as the 1999-2000 Florida Sun Conference Female Administrator of the year as well as the 1999-2000 Region XIV Athletic Director of the Year by the NAIA.

Before arriving at STU, Courtley-Todd was an assistant venue manager and events coordinator for the 1996 Olympic Soccer Organizing Committee for the Olympic soccer games in South Florida. She also assisted the Orange Bowl Committee during the 1995 national championship game.

Courtley-Todd earned her Bachelor of Science degree in 1994 at the Ohio State University in Recreation Education and a Master of Science in Sports Administration at St. Thomas University in 1995. She sits on the Executive Committee of The Sun Conference and the Board of Directors of the Miami-Dade Sports Commission, and is a member of the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA).


Courtley-Todd is married to Sean Todd, the director of football operations at Florida International University and a fellow alumnus of the STU Sports Administration program. The couple resides in Sunrise, Fla. with their daughter Sidney Aerin Todd.
